The writing systems of 27 countries were judged by a panel of language expert based on the originality, functionality, and the growth potential.

This is the second win for Hangul (Korean Alphabet), considered to be the "Perfect Alphabet" among linguistic scholars. Hangul also won the first Alphabet Olympics 

in 2009 Olympics, where Greek Alphabet and Italian Alphabet took second and third places respectively.
